Intimate partner violence (IPV) is abuse or aggression that occurs in a romantic relationship. Intimate partner refers to both current and former spouses and dating partners. IPV can include any of the following types of behavior: physical violence, sexual violence, stalking, and psychological aggression.

Clinical Support Groups
Trauma-informed Support Groups are led by our clinical therapists and held virtually.

In small groups of 5-10, you develop coping skills, focus on healing, and connect with peers who share your experiences.

How much do your programs cost?
All of our services are free to clients residing in the Lowcountry area.
Do you provide services for all genders?
Yes.
Do you have to be an emergency shelter client to use therapy services?
No, you do not have to be an emergency shelter client to use therapy services, however we do prioritize emergency shelter clients for individual therapy. Pending therapist availability, you may be added to a waitlist to receive care in order of request.
I am still in an abusive relationship. Can I attend group or apply for individual therapy?
Yes. Our clinical services are tailored to meet clients where they are on their journey and equip each person with the skills and tools helpful for survival.
How long are individual therapy services provided to clients?
Each client’s care plan is unique, however individual therapy services typically last 4 months. No obligation, cancel at any time – you can end a service at any point without penalty or commitment.
I have a friend that I think could benefit from clinical services at MSH, what can I do?
If you suspect that someone you know or love is a victim of domestic violence we encourage your to follow a few steps: 1. Ask if something is wrong. 2. Express concern. 3. Listen and validate. 4. Offer help. 5. Support their decisions.

How much do clinical therapy services cost at MSH?
My Sister’s House Clinical Servives are free for residents of the Lowcountry.
I have a client in my program in the Lowcounrty that would benefit frrom your services. How can I make a referral?
Our crisis line is the first line of hope and care for My Sister’s House. We take each call or message and work with the victim and referring partner to assess and assign services. Please note the victim must be present with the referral partner. My Sister’s House has to have consent from the victim to confirm they understand the terms of intake and want the service.
